About Us
Mindful Equity UK was founded by Aretha Banton and Youlande Biosah. Our service is dedicated to supporting Black and Asian educators right from the very start of their careers, beginning with trainee teacher status and continuing throughout their professional journey.
Our primary mission is to ensure that more Black and Asian women educators not only join the teaching profession, but also remain in the field and advance into leadership roles within the teaching profession.
We believe that fostering diversity and representation at all levels of education is crucial for inspiring future generations.
Mindful Equity UK runs a valuable peer networking service that provides essential advice, guidance, and coaching specifically tailored for Black and Asian educators navigating their early teaching careers.
We actively encourage solution-focused conversations that centre around the critical issues of representation and inclusion within the education sector.
Our aim is to influence meaningful changes in educational policy and practices, fostering an environment where diverse voices are not only heard but also valued.
Our consultancy strand provides comprehensive support to ITT providers, employers, and leadership teams as they strive to implement effective frameworks aimed at increasing the diversity among early career teachers, and leadership teams.
We collaborate closely with the most amazing allies in the field and take great pride in being a part of a wide-ranging and truly representative network that seeks to foster inclusivity and equality in education.
